The Government of Gujrat has introduced e-Forms in the state for its traders and businessmen. The traders can use e-Forms and other forms relating to inter state export and there will be no fees charged for these forms. The computerisation of the system is expected to benefit over two lakh traders.

It is said that the facility will be operational from the second quarter of Financial Year 2008-09 from July to September. The deadline for transactions up to June 30 has also been extended till November 30.

The e-Return submitted by the traders would be considered as application and no fees would be charged. In the current scenario, traders have to fill different forms for various purposes such as inter state purchase, export, stock transfer etc. In addition to this, they have to pay for the stamp fees as well.

The e-Form system would allow the Finance Department of the state to print necessary forms on the basis of the details provided by the trader and deliver the form at the office. This new system is expected to usher in transparency and speedy delivery of services.


The state is now promoting e-Governance in a big way by attarcting more investments into the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. It is been said that the state has already deployed e-Procurement in 118 government departments and organisations worth INR 15,000 crore per annum.
