Nitin Bhadauria, a 2011-batch IAS officer and currently serving as Additional Secretary and Director of Urban Development, Uttarakhand, has been appointed as the new District Magistrate (DM) of Udham Singh Nagar.
Prior to this, Nitin served the Uttarakhand government in various capacities, including as the District Magistrate of Almora and Haridwar districts, as well as the Mission Director of the Jal Jeevan Mission. His tenure in Almora stands out for the successful execution of the Kosi River rejuvenation project, a milestone in environmental conservation.
His academic and professional credentials include schooling at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Kanpur, a B.Tech degree from BITS Pilani, and a PGDM from IIM Bangalore. Before joining the civil services in 2011, Bhadauria worked as an investment banker in Mumbai for two years, quitting his corporate role in 2010 to pursue a career in public service.

The government also reinstated Ranveer Singh Chauhan, a 2009-batch IAS officer, as Director General of Agriculture and Horticulture, who was transferred a day back. Meanwhile, Dehradun Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar has been relieved of his duties as Commissioner and will now focus on his role as Additional Secretary in the Department of Social Welfare.
