In a significant administrative overhaul, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced the transfer of 13 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, impacting positions at the ADG, IG, and DIG levels. The reshuffle, implemented through orders issued late Sunday night, reflects a strategic reorganization of key police roles across the state.

Among the prominent changes, 1996-batch officer Dr. N. Ravindra has been reassigned from his role as GSO to the Additional Director General of Police (ADG) to a new position in the Anti-Corruption Organisation. This transition underscores his expanded responsibility in combating corruption.


Key Appointments

  • Dr. Sanjeev Gupta (1999 batch): The Home Secretary ADG now assumes additional duties as ADG Establishment and GSO to the Director General of Police.
  • Nachiketa Jha (2003 batch): The IG of Meerut has been transferred to Lucknow, where he takes charge as the new Home Secretary.
  • RK Bhardwaj (2005 batch): Former IG of Basti has been appointed as the Inspector General of Police, Bhawan Kalyan.
  • Akash Kulhari: Previously Joint Commissioner of Police for Crime, he now serves as IG Public Grievances.

  • Amit Pathak: Appointed as IG of the Devipatan Zone, Gonda, replacing Amarendra Prasad Singh, who moves to DIG Intelligence.
  • Dinesh Kumar P: Transferred from Ghaziabad to Basti as DIG.
  • Bablu Kumar: Elevated to Joint Police Commissioner for Crime and Headquarters in Gautam Buddha Nagar.
  • Keshav Kumar Chaudhary: Assumes the role of DIG in Jhansi.
  • Sanjeev Tyagi: DIG Intelligence, now Additional Police Commissioner of Agra.
  • Kalanidhi Naithani: Moves from DIG Jhansi to DIG Meerut Zone.
  • Ajay Kumar: Takes on the role of In-charge Additional Police Commissioner in Gautam Buddha Nagar.
