Anupam Rajan


The Madhya Pradesh government has promoted Anupam Rajan, Principal Secretary of the Higher Education Department, to the position of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS). A 1993-batch IAS officer, Rajan will officially assume his new responsibilities on December 1.

With this promotion, Rajan’s salary will align with that of the state’s Chief Secretary. The General Administration Department issued the formal order on Friday, announcing the decision to the public.


In his role as ACS, Rajan will continue leading the Higher Education Department while retaining additional responsibilities for the Horticulture and Food Processing Department. Moreover, he has been designated as Chairman of the Revenue Board, further expanding his portfolio of leadership roles.

Rajan’s career trajectory includes a notable tenure as Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Electoral Officer for nearly three years. After returning to the field on August 20, he was appointed Principal Secretary of the Higher Education Department and was entrusted with overseeing the Horticulture and Food Processing Department.

Throughout his career, Rajan has demonstrated his administrative acumen, serving as a collector in various districts and holding key positions across multiple departments.
