The Government of Uttar Pradesh on 31 October 2026 transferred and reassigned 15 IAS officers, appointing 1993-batch officer Alok Kumar-II as Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner (IIDC) and 1992-batch officer Anurag Srivastava as Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC). The UP IAS reshuffle follows the retirement of 1990-batch officer Deepak Kumar.

Deepak Kumar had held several of the state’s most powerful portfolios at once, including APC, IIDC, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance), chairman of UPEIDA and Commissioner, Vigilance. He was named CEO of UPEIDA in September 2025. The order spreads his charges across senior officers.
UP IAS reshuffle: the two big appointments
Alok Kumar-II becomes IIDC and chairman of the Projects and Infrastructure Corporation of Uttar Pradesh (PICUP). He keeps his charge as Additional Chief Secretary for Infrastructure and Industrial Development and the NRI Department. Kumar, who was promoted to Additional Chief Secretary in July 2025, studied electrical engineering at IIT Delhi and public policy at Princeton, and has served in NITI Aayog and the Chief Minister’s Office.
Anurag Srivastava takes over as APC and continues as Additional Chief Secretary for Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply, Minor Irrigation and Groundwater. He also stays Mission Director of the Rural Drinking Water Mission and Project Director of the State Clean Ganga Mission. Srivastava won the Prime Minister’s Award for innovation in public administration for using solar energy in Jal Jeevan Mission projects.
