The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a significant reshuffle of senior IAS officers, resulting in the reassignment of 14 key departments.
The most striking development is the removal of Chief Secretary SP Goyal from all his portfolios — including the charge of Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner (IIDC) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Uttar Pradesh Development Authority (UPDA). He will no longer hold any government portfolio, a rare move that has drawn attention across administrative circles.
Deepak Kumar Emerges as Key Power Centre
Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Deepak Kumar has been entrusted with multiple roles traditionally held by the Chief Secretary, marking a dramatic consolidation of power. He now holds the following positions:
- Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner
- Chairman, Public Infrastructure and Capital Knowledge Utilization Program (PICKUP)
- CEO, Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA)
- Additional Chief Secretary, Coordination Department
- Project Director, Uttar Pradesh Development and Agricultural Services Program (UPDASP)
Key Transfers of Other IAS Officers
Several other important postings and reshuffles were announced:
- Parthasarathi Sen Sharma: Transferred from Medical and Health Department to Principal Secretary, Basic and Secondary Education Department.
- Amit Kumar Ghosh: Appointed Principal Secretary, Medical and Health and Medical Education Departments, after returning from central deputation.
- Mukesh Meshram: Moved from Principal Secretary, Tourism, to lead Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Fisheries Department.
- Amrit Abhijat: Assigned as Principal Secretary, Tourism, Culture and Charitable Works Department.

- Ranveer Prasad: Given additional charge of Principal Secretary, Revenue Department.
- Anamika Singh: Appointed Commissioner, Food and Logistics Department.
