Centre: 36 Officers empanelled for Joint Secretary-Level Posts

In a significant step to strengthen administrative capacity across ministries, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared the empanelment of 36 officers for appointment as Joint Secretary or equivalent in the Government of India. The decision, finalised on September 19, 2025, spans a wide spectrum of services, underscoring the government’s push for cross-sectoral expertise and policy leadership.

The empanelled officers represent the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), as well as central services including railways, audit, statistics, postal, defence, and finance. Their induction is expected to contribute significantly to India’s priorities in digital governance, infrastructure growth, tax reforms, public service delivery, and regulatory modernisation.
