The Himachal Pradesh government on Tuesday carried out a minor administrative reshuffle, assigning additional responsibilities to senior IAS officer Amarjeet Singh and transferring two Himachal Administrative Service (HAS) officers. The Department of Personnel issued the official notification as part of routine administrative adjustments aimed at improving departmental coordination and governance efficiency.

Amarjeet Singh Assigned Additional Charge

Senior IAS officer Amarjeet Singh, who is currently serving as Secretary (Cooperation), has been given the additional charge of the Department of Town and Country Planning.

The department had earlier been under the temporary supervision of Acting Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta. Officials said the new arrangement is expected to strengthen administrative oversight and improve coordination in urban planning and development-related matters.

Nishant Thakur Appointed Additional Secretary (Revenue-DMC)

2010-batch HAS officer Nishant Thakur has been appointed as Additional Secretary (Revenue-DMC).

He will continue to hold his existing responsibilities as Project Director of the Program Management Unit (SDMF) along with the new assignment. Officials said the dual responsibility is intended to ensure continuity in ongoing revenue administration and development-related projects.

Vinay Modi Given Additional Responsibilities in Una

HAS officer Vinay Modi has been posted as Assistant Commissioner to Deputy Commissioner (AC-to-DC), Una.

In addition to this role, he has also been assigned the additional charge of Member Secretary of the State Scheduled Castes Commission in Una.

Prior to the transfer, Vinay Modi was serving as Member Secretary at the headquarters of the State Commission for Scheduled Castes in Una.

Routine Administrative Restructuring

Officials said the latest reshuffle is part of the state government’s ongoing administrative restructuring process aimed at ensuring better coordination across departments and improving governance efficiency.

The changes are expected to strengthen functioning in departments related to urban planning, revenue administration and social welfare while ensuring smoother implementation of government programmes across Himachal Pradesh.
