The Himachal Pradesh government on Thursday evening carried out a major reshuffle of the Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre, transferring 12 IPS officers and reassigning responsibilities across key districts and specialised wings. The reshuffle includes changes in district leadership as well as postings in vigilance, cyber crime, training, intelligence, and police headquarters.
New District SPs Appointed
As part of the reshuffle, new Superintendents of Police have been appointed in three important districts of the state. Gaurav Singh has been posted as the Superintendent of Police, Shimla. Sachin Hiremath has been appointed as SP, Una, while Tirumalaraju SD Varma has been posted as SP, Solan.
Key Postings and New Assignments
Several IPS officers have been entrusted with important new roles across different departments. Sandeep Kumar Bhardwaj has been posted as Additional Director to the Governor (ADC). Sakshi Verma has been appointed as SP, State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Mandi. Arvind Chaudhary has been posted as Commandant, 4th Indian Reserve Battalion, Jangalberi.
At the senior level, Abhishek Dular has been posted as Inspector General (IG), Communication and Technical Services, while DK Chaudhary has been appointed as IG, Armed Police and Training, Daroh.
DIG-Level Postings Announced
The government has also announced several Deputy Inspector General (DIG)-level postings. Rohit Malpani has been posted as DIG, Cyber Crime. Ramesh Chander Chhajta has been appointed as DIG, Prisons and Correctional Services, while Devakar Sharma has been posted as DIG, Intelligence and Security, Dharamshala.
Additional Charge and Special Directions
Soumya Sambasivan has been given additional charge as Principal, Police Training College, Daroh. Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi, the outgoing SP of Shimla who has recently been promoted to DIG, has been placed at the disposal of the Department of Personnel. Meanwhile, Amit Yadav, the outgoing SP of Una, has been directed to report to the State Police Headquarters.

Administrative Significance
