Centre appoints new Secretaries for Key Ministries, Check List

In a fresh bureaucratic development at the secretary level, the Central Government has appointed new secretaries for various ministries and departments.
- T V Somanathan, a 1987 Tamil Nadu cadre officer, and current Finance and Expenditure Secretary, has been appointed as the next Cabinet Secretary, effective August 30.
- Manoj Govil, a 1991 Madhya Pradesh cadre officer, has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.
- Nagaraju Maddirala, a 1993 Tripura cadre officer, has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Financial Services (DFS), replacing Vivek Joshi.
- Deepti Gaur Mukherjee, a 1993 Madhya Pradesh cadre officer, has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA).
- RK Singh, a 1991 Kerala cadre officer, has been appointed as the new Defence Secretary.
- K Srinivas, 1989 Gujarat cadre officer, appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
- Punya Salila Srivastava has been appointed as the next Health Secretary, succeeding Apurva Chandra after his retirement on September 30, 2024.
