Sudhansh Pant Gets Additional Charge of SC, Backward Classes Commissions

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has assigned additional charge of Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) and Secretary, National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) to senior IAS officer Sudhansh Pant.


1991-Batch IAS Officer

Pant is a 1991-batch IAS officer of the Rajasthan cadre. He is currently serving as Secretary, Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

His present role gives him direct administrative experience in areas related to social justice and empowerment.


Additional Charge With Immediate Effect

As per the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) order dated September 1, Pant has been given the additional responsibilities with immediate effect.


He will continue to hold the charge until regular incumbents are appointed or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Focus on Social Justice Administration

With the additional responsibilities, Pant will oversee the administrative functioning of both the NCSC and NCBC alongside his existing role. His experience in the social justice sector is expected to support the functioning of the two constitutional commissions during the interim period.
