V Srinivas IAS

Senior IAS officer V. Srinivas (1989-batch, Rajasthan cadre) has taken over as the Chief Secretary of Rajasthan, following his repatriation from the Centre. He succeeds Sudhansh Pant, who has moved to a senior position in the Union Government.

Srinivas formally assumed charge at the state secretariat and outlined administrative coordination, transparency, and accelerated policy implementation as key focus areas. Alongside his role as Chief Secretary, he has also been assigned additional responsibilities as Chairman of Rajasthan State Mines & Minerals Ltd. and Principal Resident Commissioner of Rajasthan in New Delhi.

In his initial statements, Srinivas emphasised the need to advance the state’s developmental roadmap, particularly the Developed Rajasthan @ 2047 vision. He is also expected to oversee the timely execution of projects and investments linked to the Rising Rajasthan Summit, where several important MOUs were signed last year. Strengthening implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, improving service delivery, and boosting private investment are expected to remain high on his agenda.

Srinivas brings extensive administrative experience from both state and central postings. In the Union Government, he served as Secretary in the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and the Department of Pensions and Pensioners’ Welfare. His earlier work includes roles in finance, health, rural development, and institutional reform, as well as a stint with the International Monetary Fund.

His tenure as Chief Secretary is expected to continue until his superannuation in September 2026. The appointment marks a significant shift in Rajasthan’s administrative leadership as the state advances its long-term reform and development priorities.
