The Trade ministry of Vietnam is planning to strongly develop e-Commerce to face the challenges in the country's world integration process.
While speaking at the workshop on e-Commerce, deputy head of e-commerce at the ministry, Tran Huu Linh, said the application of e-Commerce will grow strongly in Vietnam. He said that the eBay Online auction website has decided to test run its Vietnamese version, which shows good prospects for e-Commerce in the country. The country is aiming for 70% of major businesses deploying e-Commerce by 2010. The Trade Ministry is pushing up the dissemination of information about and training in e-commerce, issuance of legal documents instrumental to e-commerce development, infrastructure development and international cooperation. According to a survey of 303 enterprises by the e-commerce Department, 83% of businesses have Internet access, 25% have their own websites and 16% have plans or projects to develop e-Commerce.
