Top private sector lender ICICI Bank opened its first branch in China’s biggest city Shanghai. The branch was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Our branch in Shanghai will boost the growing trade and investment opportunity between India and China,” ICICI Bank’s MD and CEO Chanda Kochhar said.
Some public sector banks including SBI, UCO Bank, Canara Bank and Allahabad Bank have also expanded their presence in China in the recent years.
