assigns additional charges to Rajasthan officers

Prior to the General Elections 2019, the Election Commission has assigned additional roles to the IAS officers of Rajasthan cadre. The officers will serve the additional charges during the Election Period.

Akhil Arora (1993-Batch) has been given the additional charge as Director and Joint Secretary to Government, Disabilities Department, Rajasthan. He is at present the Principal Secretary to Government, Social Justice & Empowerment and Tribal Area Development Department.

Pawan Arora, the 2007-Batch Officer and Director & ex-officio Joint Secretary, Local Bodies, Rajasthan has been assigned the additional charge as Project Director, Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Development Project (RUIDP).

Dr Bhanwar Lal, the IAS officer of 2014-Batch and Rajasthan Tourism Department Director has been given additional charge as Managing Director, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation, Jaipur.


Hemant Gera (1997-Batch) has been assigned the additional charge as Director, Science and Technology Department, Rajasthan. At present he is the Secretary to Government, Medical Education Department, Rajasthan.

PC Berwal (2005-Batch), who is holding the post of Special Secretary to Government, Home Department, has been given the additional charge of Special Secretary to Government, Home Department (Disaster Management),  Rajasthan.

Bhawani Singh Detha (1999-Batch) has been allotted the additional charge as Director, Mines & Geology Department, Rajasthan. At present he is the Divisional Commissioner and ex-officio Commissioner, Tribal Area Development Department, Udaipur.

Abhay Kumar, the IAS officer of 1992-Batch has been given the additional charge as Registrar, Cooperative Department, Jaipur. He is currently holding the post of Principal Secretary to Government, Cooperative Department.

Rajasthan Industrial and Investment Corporation (RIICO) Jaipur Managing Director (MD) Gaurav Goyal (2006-Batch) has been given the additional charge of Commissioner, Industries Department, Jaipur.

Naresh Pal Gangwar (1994-Batch) has been assigned additional responsibility as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Rajasthan State Electricity Board or Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam. Gangwar is currently serving as Principal Secretary to Government, Energy Department and Chairman, DISCOM, Jaipur.

Dr Subodh Agarwal, 1998-Batch Officer, has been given the additional charge as Principal Secretary to Government, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Department, Rajasthan. At present he is the Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, State Enterprises and NRIs & Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor and OSD Bhiwadi Industrial Development Authority. He is also the Additional Chief Secretary, Investment & NRIs, Bureau of Investment Promotion, Rajasthan.

Sushma Arora (2008-Batch), Director, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Jaipur has been given additional charge as Commissioner, Women Empowerment Department, Jaipur.

Anupama Jorwal, 2011-Batch officer has been allotted the additional charge as Special Secretary to Government, Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Jaipur. At present, she is the Joint Secretary to Government, PHED Jaipur.

Manju Rajpal (2000-Batch), Secretary to Government, Finance (Budget), Department, Jaipur, has been given the additional charge as Special Secretary to Government, Finance (Expenditure) Department.

Roli Singh, 1994-Batch Officer has been assigned the additional charge as Director, HCM RIPA and ex-officio Principal Secretary to Government, Training, Jaipur. At present she is the Principal Secretary to Government, Department of Personnel, Jaipur.

Alok Gupta (1996-Batch), Secretary to Government, Devsthan Department, Jaipur, has been given the additional charge as Commissioner, Devsthan Department, Udaipur.
