BJP Manifesto 2019


BJP Manifesto 2019, described as the Sankalp Patra, states agendas to work towards the development and empowerment of the weaker sections of the society.  The agendas of the Manifesto revolve around policies and schemes for the betterment of farmers, women and rural empowerment among others.

The BJP Manifesto was released on Monday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with BJP chief Amit Shah, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other party members.

Releasing the Manifesto, Modi said, “People sitting in the air condition in Delhi cannot beat poverty. Only poor can defeat poverty. This is our mantra and therefore we have stressed the empowerment of the poor.”


The Manifesto focused on several farmer development measures. Under the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Rs 6,000 yearly income support will be provided to all farmers.

Under this scheme, a pension for small and marginal farmers will be ensured after 60 years of age.


The Sankalp Patra stated that short-term new agriculture loans up to Rs 1 lakh at zero percent interest will be provided for a period of one to five years on the condition of prompt repayment of the principal amount.

The Manifesto also mentions that the party would invest Rs 25 lakh crore for rural development. Women’s welfare and development will also be given priority as per the BJP Manifesto. The party has committed to 33 percent reservation in parliament and state assemblies through a constitutional amendment.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the issue of water shortage will be treated on priority. Commenting on this, Modi said, “Today there is a need to seriously consider the solution of water problem in many states of the country. That’s why we will create a separate ‘Jal Shakti Ministry’.”

The BJP Manifesto aspires to make India the third largest economy of the world by 2030. “This implies that we commit to make India a USD 5 trillion economy by 2025 and USD 10 trillion economy by 2032,” the Manifesto states.

Modi also stated, “BJP’s Sankalp Patra aims to make India a developed nation by 2047, on completion of 100 years of independence.”

Regarding medical and health benefits, the BJP Manifesto mentioned setting up one medical college or post graduate medical college in every district, through public or private participation by 2024. The Manifesto also targets to set up telemedicine and diagnostic laboratory facilities at Health and Wellness Centers by 2022.

The Manifesto also focuses on the zero tolerance on terrorism and extremism.
