Tata Electronics, ASML Sign MoU to Strengthen India’s Semiconductor Ecosystem

India’s semiconductor ambitions received a major boost as Tata Electronics and ASML signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening the country’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. The agreement was signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten, highlighting the growing strategic cooperation between India and the Netherlands in advanced technology sectors.

The partnership is expected to support the development of Tata Electronics’ upcoming semiconductor facility in Dholera, Gujarat, a project considered crucial for India’s long-term technology and manufacturing roadmap.

Tata-ASML Partnership to Support Dholera Project

Under the agreement, ASML will provide technological and operational support for Tata Electronics’ semiconductor manufacturing unit being developed in Dholera.

The collaboration is expected to help strengthen manufacturing capabilities, improve technical expertise and support the scaling of advanced semiconductor operations in India.

The Dholera project is being viewed as a key initiative in building a robust domestic semiconductor ecosystem and reducing reliance on global supply chains.

PM Modi Highlights Growing Technology Collaboration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the agreement reflects the strengthening relationship between India and the Netherlands in emerging and future technologies.

He highlighted that partnerships in areas such as semiconductors represent an important step toward expanding innovation-driven collaboration and building stronger global technology networks.

The agreement also reflects India’s growing focus on attracting global technology leaders to participate in the country’s industrial and manufacturing expansion.

Semiconductor Sector Creating Opportunities for Youth

The Prime Minister noted that India’s growing semiconductor sector is opening new opportunities for engineers, researchers and young professionals.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to continued investment and expansion in advanced technology sectors as part of India’s broader development vision.

Industry experts believe the expansion of semiconductor manufacturing could generate employment, strengthen research capabilities and create high-value opportunities across the technology ecosystem.

India Expanding Semiconductor Manufacturing Push

India has been actively promoting semiconductor manufacturing through policy support and investment initiatives aimed at strengthening domestic capabilities.

States such as Gujarat have emerged as key destinations for electronics and semiconductor investments, with several large-scale projects being planned and executed.
