Karnataka Transfers Two IAS Officers; Salma K. Fahim Appointed Labour Secretary

Kanaga Valli M. takes charge of Food and Civil Supplies Department, given additional KSMSCL role


The Karnataka government has ordered a reshuffle of two senior IAS officers, assigning them new secretary-level responsibilities with immediate effect as part of its administrative realignment.

Salma K. Fahim (IAS, 2006 batch), who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Secretary of the Labour Department, Bengaluru. She replaces Mohammad Mohsin, who was holding the charge on an additional basis. Fahim will also hold concurrent charge as Secretary of the Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department, a post earlier held by Kanaga Valli M.

Meanwhile, Kanaga Valli M. (IAS, 2010 batch) has been transferred and posted as Secretary of the Food, Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs and Legal Metrology Department, Bengaluru, succeeding Dr. Prasad N. V., who was managing the department on a concurrent basis.

In addition to her new posting, Kanaga Valli has been given concurrent charge as Managing Director of the Karnataka State Medical Supplies Corporation Limited (KSMSCL), Bengaluru.


Officials said the changes are aimed at improving administrative coordination across key departments. The new appointments take effect immediately and will remain in force until further orders.
