In a series of recent administrative shifts, the Government of Odisha has assigned senior IPS officer S.K. Priyadarshi the additional role of Chairman and Managing Director of the Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (OPHWC). Priyadarshi, a 1995-batch IPS officer, continues to serve in the rank of Additional Director General of Police.
In Tamil Nadu, notable IPS transfers have been announced. Anisa Husain, a 2001-batch officer and former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vacancy Reserve at the Director General of Police’s Office in Chennai, has been appointed as IGP of the Special Investigation Division, CB CID. Additionally, S. Sarvesh Raj, a 2013-batch IPS officer, is reassigned from his role as Superintendent of Police (SP) Vacancy Reserve to the SP of the State Police Master Control Room in Chennai.

The Punjab Government has also issued transfer orders for IPS officers. Gaurav Toora, a 2014-batch IPS officer previously serving as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Tarn Taran, has been appointed Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Personnel-1 in Chandigarh. Meanwhile, Abhimanyu Rana, a 2018-batch IPS officer and former Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Amritsar, will step into Toora’s previous role as SSP of Tarn Taran.
In Jammu and Kashmir, the General Administration Department has directed IPS officer Vivek Gupta, a 2007-batch official currently holding the role of IG Railways, to additionally oversee the post of IGP Traffic until M. Suleman Choudhary resumes duties following his term as an Election Observer.
