Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has carried out a minor bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring two senior IAS officers and assigning them key responsibilities in the Chief Minister’s Office. The move comes shortly after Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar assumed office and began putting in place his core administrative team.

Tushar Giri Nath Takes Charge as ACS to CM

Senior IAS officer Tushar Giri Nath (1993 batch) has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister. Prior to his new assignment, he was serving as Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development Department.

According to the government order, Tushar Giri Nath will continue to hold charge of the Urban Development Department while simultaneously discharging his responsibilities in the Chief Minister’s Office. His appointment is expected to strengthen coordination between the government’s key departments and the CM’s office.

Rajendra Cholan P Named Secretary to Chief Minister

In another significant posting, Rajendra Cholan P (2008 batch) has been appointed as Secretary to the Chief Minister. He was previously serving as Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister.

Along with his new role, Rajendra Cholan has also been entrusted with the concurrent charge of Managing Director, Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL), Bengaluru, one of the state’s key public sector power utilities.

Strengthening the Chief Minister’s Office

The appointments are part of the Karnataka government’s efforts to establish an efficient administrative framework under the new leadership. Both officers bring extensive experience in governance, policy implementation and departmental administration.

Officials said the appointments are aimed at ensuring smooth coordination, faster decision-making and effective execution of the government’s development priorities. With key bureaucrats now positioned in strategic roles, the Chief Minister’s Office is expected to play a central role in driving the new government’s governance and policy agenda.
