In a significant step towards strengthening India’s high-speed rail ambitions, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the Aditya High-Speed Rail Complex in Bengaluru. The facility, developed by BEML Limited, is set to play a crucial role in building India’s indigenous bullet train capabilities.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Satish Kumar and Shantanu Roy, along with representatives from Indian Railways and the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited.
A Boost to India’s Bullet Train Vision
The Aditya complex has been designed as a dedicated manufacturing hub to support the development of India’s first indigenous high-speed trainsets. The upcoming B-28 trainsets will be produced at this facility using advanced manufacturing technologies.
Speaking at the event, Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted that high-speed rail will transform connectivity, reduce travel time, and drive economic growth by bringing cities closer.
Advanced Manufacturing Capabilities
The new facility is equipped with modern infrastructure to support precision engineering, including:
- Robotic laser welding systems
- Universal hydraulic jigs
- Integrated mechanical and electrical outfitting systems
These technologies are expected to ensure high-quality production standards and support large-scale manufacturing in the future.
Strengthening Indigenous Rail Technology
With the launch of this complex, BEML Limited is set to strengthen India’s position in advanced rail manufacturing. The initiative aligns with the country’s broader push for self-reliance in critical infrastructure sectors.
