The restructuring, which replaces the sprawling BBMP with five zonal city corporations, is expected to make governance more decentralised, responsive, and development-focused. The Siddaramaiah government views this as a crucial step in strengthening infrastructure, improving service delivery, and addressing Bengaluru’s growing urban challenges.
