The Bihar government has announced a major reshuffle in the state bureaucracy with the transfer of five senior IAS officers, impacting key departments such as education, development, environment, and revenue.
Key Transfers and New Responsibilities:
- S Siddharth (IAS, 1991 batch): Former ACS of the Education Department, has been appointed as Development Commissioner of Bihar, where he will oversee the state’s overall development programmes and schemes.
- Dr. B. Rajender (IAS, 1995 batch): Transferred to the Education Department as its new Additional Chief Secretary (ACS). His leadership will drive crucial reforms and initiatives in the state’s education sector.
- Anand Kishore (IAS, 1996 batch): Assigned the additional charge of the Forest and Environment Department, alongside his current duties, underlining the government’s emphasis on sustainability.

- Arvind Kumar Chaudhary (IAS, 1995 batch): Appointed as ACS of the Cabinet Secretariat, tasked with strengthening policy coordination and decision-making at the top level of governance.
- Harjot Kaur Bamhra (IAS, 1992 batch): Transferred as Chairman-cum-Member of the Revenue Council. She earlier served as ACS of the Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Department with additional charge of the Revenue Council.
