
The Jammu and Kashmir Government has undertaken a major reshuffle in its police leadership, implementing critical changes in postings and responsibilities across various ranks of the force. As per an official order issued by the J&K Home Department, these transfers and appointments come into effect immediately.
In a prominent development, 2002-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre, Uttam Chand, currently serving as IG (POS) Headquarters, has been entrusted with significant additional responsibilities. He will now also serve as IGP (Headquarters) PHQ, IG (Technical), and IG (Telecom), taking over these portfolios from 2007-batch IPS officer M. Suleman Choudhary, who has been relieved of these additional charges.
In another notable change, 2011-batch IPS officer Vinod Kumar, currently DIG Armed Jammu, has been assigned the additional charge of DIG IR Jammu.
Further appointments include:
- Mohd. Arshad, JKPS, Director Home-guards, Jammu, has been given the additional responsibility of DIG HG/CD & SDRF, Jammu.
- 2020-batch IPS officer Hariprasad K.K. has been posted as Additional SP Baramulla.
- 2021-batch IPS officer Kartik Shrotriya has been posted as Additional SP Anantnag, replacing Sajad Ahmad Sheikh.
Additional structural changes in ranks involve:
- 2021-batch IPS officer Mukund Tibrewal has been appointed as SP Operations (Border & Kandi), Kathua.
- JKPS officer Sajad Ahmad Sheikh, previously Additional SP Anantnag, has been transferred as SP CTC Lethpora (Vice Principal).
- Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, formerly Additional SP Anantnag (Overall Reserve Post), has been posted as Dy. CO IR-23, succeeding Rameez Raja.
