4 IAS in Gujarat Given Additional Charge, Vijay Kharadi Appointed Fisheries Commissioner

In a key administrative development, the Gujarat government on Thursday issued charge arrangement orders for four IAS officers and one Gujarat Administrative Service (GAS) officer, in the wake of recent bureaucratic transfers across departments.


2009-batch IAS officer Vijay Kharadi, presently Managing Director of Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Commissioner of Fisheries. He succeeds N.K. Meena, who was recently transferred.

K.C. Sampat, currently serving as Managing Director of iNDEXTb, will additionally hold the post of Additional Industries Commissioner.

Adra Agrawal, Commissioner of Cottage and Rural Industries, has been given the added charge of Managing Director, Gujarat State Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation.


V.I. Patel, Additional Commissioner of the Gujarat Municipal Finance Board, will now also serve as the Mission Director for both the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) and the Gujarat Urban Livelihood Mission.

In a parallel move, GAS officer Mehul Desai, presently Deputy Municipal Commissioner of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, has been appointed as the new Municipal Commissioner of Gandhidham Municipal Corporation, replacing M.P. Pandya.
