Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for ₹316 crore worth of development projects in Gopalganj as part of his ongoing Samriddhi Yatra, underscoring the state government’s focus on infrastructure, healthcare, and public safety.
The projects include 33 schemes worth ₹181 crore for foundation-laying and seven projects worth ₹135 crore that were inaugurated during the visit. In addition to the launches, the Chief Minister inspected the Saran embankment at Bartadeh Panchayat and reviewed facilities at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Barouli block.
Emphasis on Timely, Quality Execution
Reviewing ongoing works with district officials, the Chief Minister directed departments to ensure time-bound completion and high-quality execution of all projects. He stressed that welfare benefits must reach the last beneficiary with transparency and urged the administration to remain responsive to public grievances.
The visit also included an interaction with local residents, where the Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to citizen-centric governance and quick redressal of issues.

Among the key initiatives reviewed and launched were:

Reflecting on Bihar’s Progress
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister spoke about Bihar’s journey since 2005, noting improvements in law and order, healthcare, education, roads, and electricity. He said sustained focus on these sectors has translated into better living standards and visible development across the state.

The Samriddhi Yatra is a statewide outreach programme aimed at monitoring project implementation, identifying gaps, and engaging directly with citizens to ensure effective delivery of government schemes. Officials said the initiative helps align administrative action with ground realities and reinforces accountability.
