Hero Future Energies

Hero Future Energies (HFEPL), a prominent renewable energy firm under the Hero Group, has signed a significant agreement with the Karnataka government to boost the state’s green energy initiatives. With a planned investment of ₹11,000 crore, the company will focus on renewable energy and green hydrogen projects. This collaboration underscores Karnataka’s commitment to becoming a leader in sustainable development and clean energy solutions.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed during the London Roadshows, spearheaded by Karnataka’s Industries Minister, M.B. Patil. The ambitious projects are slated to commence in 2025-26, with an execution timeline of two to three years. Once operational, they are expected to generate around 3,000 direct jobs, enhancing employment opportunities in the region.

HFEPL, established in 2012 by Rahul Munjal, is committed to advancing clean energy technologies. The company benefits from investments by International Finance Corporation (IFC) and global private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR). With this initiative, HFEPL aims to contribute to India’s transition toward a more sustainable energy ecosystem.

The Karnataka government has assured comprehensive support for the initiative, including expedited permissions and incentives to ensure the projects’ smooth implementation. This strategic partnership reflects the state’s proactive approach to attracting investments in green energy while aligning with its broader environmental sustainability goals.
Hero Future Energies’ parent organisation, Hero Group, is globally recognized for its flagship company, Hero MotoCorp, the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world. By diversifying into renewable energy, the group is reinforcing its commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable growth.

It represents a significant step forward in India’s journey toward clean energy adoption, setting a benchmark for other states to emulate.
