The Government of India has announced a series of appointments, additional charge assignments and tenure extensions involving senior officers across various ministries and departments.

The latest personnel decisions include a key posting in the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), an additional charge in the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, a new appointment in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and the extension of a central deputation tenure in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
Manish Singh Appointed SSP in NHRC

IPS officer Manish Singh, a 2013-batch officer of the Gujarat cadre, has been appointed as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in the National Human Rights Commission on a lateral shift basis.

Currently serving as Director in the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), Singh will assume his new responsibilities from the date of joining and will continue in the position up to November 13, 2030.
According to the order, his central deputation tenure will be counted with effect from November 14, 2025.

Pallavi Jain Govil Given Additional Charge of Sports Department
Senior IAS officer Pallavi Jain Govil, a 1994-batch officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre and currently Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Secretary, Department of Sports.
She will hold the additional responsibility until June 14, 2026, during the leave period of Hari Ranjan Rao, who currently serves as Secretary in the Department of Sports.
The arrangement ensures continuity in the functioning of the Ministry’s sports-related programmes and initiatives during the temporary absence of the incumbent secretary.
Navneet Kumar Appointed OSD to Ashwini Vaishnaw
Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) officer Navneet Kumar, a 2014-batch officer, has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the level of Deputy Secretary to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
The appointment is in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, where Vaishnaw oversees key portfolios including Electronics and Information Technology, Railways, and Information and Broadcasting.
Navneet Kumar has been appointed for a period of four years and is expected to assist in policy coordination, administrative matters and programme implementation across the minister’s areas of responsibility.
Hemant Kumar Patil’s Tenure Extended
The Government has also approved the extension of the tenure of Hemant Kumar Patil, a 2002-batch officer of the Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS), who is serving as Director in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
His deputation tenure has been extended by two years beyond August 15, 2026, and will now continue until August 15, 2028.
Patil has been on central deputation since August 16, 2021, and the extension will enable continuity in his current responsibilities within the ministry.
Routine Administrative Decisions
The latest appointments and tenure-related decisions are part of the Government of India’s regular administrative process aimed at ensuring continuity in governance, effective leadership and smooth functioning across ministries and departments.
