In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Punjab government announced postings and transfer orders affecting 10 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and 26 Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers on Tuesday.

According to the latest directives, Daljit Singh Mangat, among the IAS cadre, has been entrusted with additional responsibilities. Mangat will now serve as the secretary Lokpal, relieving Amrit Singh while retaining his original position as commissioner of the Patiala division.

Meanwhile, Amrit Kaur Shergill has been assigned additional duties as the special secretary for agriculture and farmers’ welfare in addition to her existing role as secretary of the Punjab State Agricultural Marketing Board.

Further changes include Kulwant Singh, the Deputy Commissioner of Moga, assuming the additional role of Moga municipal commissioner, which had been vacant for some time. Similarly, Senu Duggal, the DC of Fazilka, has been appointed as the Fazilka municipal commissioner, replacing Ravinder Singh Arora, a PCS officer.

Moreover, Moneesh Kumar, the state transport commissioner, has been designated as the chief administrator of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority SAS Nagar, replacing IAS officer Rajiv Kumar Gupta.

Amandeep Kaur, previously awaiting posting, has now been appointed as the special secretary for home affairs and justice. Additionally, the services of Aaditya Dachalwal, who served as the additional secretary for NRI affairs, have been transferred to the local bodies department to serve as the Patiala municipal commissioner.

Kamal Kumar Garg, the managing director of Milkfed, will now take on the additional role of additional secretary for food, civil supplies, and consumer affairs, replacing PCS officer Amarinder Singh Malhi.

Furthermore, Ankurpreet Singh, the additional DC of Pathankot, has been assigned the additional responsibility of commissioner for the Municipal Corporation of Pathankot, filling a vacant post. Kanchan, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as the Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) for Patiala.

Among the PCS officers affected by the reshuffle, Jagwinderjit Singh Grewal, previously serving as ADC for rural development in Fazilka, has been reassigned as ADC for rural development in Moga, replacing Anita Darshi. Additionally, Anupam Kaler, the municipal commissioner, has been given the additional charge of commissioner for the Municipal Corporation of Phagwara, and Bikrammjit Singh Shergill, joint secretary for printing and stationery, has been appointed as the joint secretary for animal husbandry, dairy development, and fisheries.
