Punjab government


In a significant bureaucratic overhaul, the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government has announced the transfer and posting of 10 IAS officers, with 6 Deputy Commissioners among them.

The reshuffle affects key administrative positions across the state, with Deputy Commissioners in Bathinda, Patiala, and Ludhiana being among those reassigned.

Surabhi Malik, a 2012 batch IAS officer who previously served as DC Ludhiana, has been appointed as the Chief Executive of Punjab Energy Development Agency.


Taking over as the new DC of Patiala is Showkat Ahmad Parray, a 2013 batch IAS officer, succeeding Ms. Sakshi Sawhney, who now assumes the role of DC Ludhiana.

Meanwhile, H S Sudan, also a 2013 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as DC Muktsar, replacing Ruhee Dugg. Jaspreet Singh, a 2014 batch IAS officer, assumes the role of DC Bathinda, having previously served as Director of Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities, with additional responsibilities as CEO of Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion.


Aditya Uppal, a 2011 batch IAS officer, now takes charge as DC Pathankot. Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu, from the 2016 batch, has been appointed as Chief Administrator of Jalandhar Development Authority.

Amit Kumar Panchal, a 2016 batch IAS officer, assumes the role of DC Kapurthala, while Gautam Jain, from the 2017 batch, takes up the position of Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar.

Harpreet Singh, a 2019 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Amritsar, as per the latest government order.
