10 IAS transferred in Punjab, Alok Shekhar made ACS Rural Development

The Punjab government in a significant administrative reshuffle on January 22nd issued transfers order of 10 IAS officers of the state with immediate effect:

Alok Shekhar, IAS (1994): Transferred as Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner, Rural Development and Panchayats, relieving Shri Tejveer Singh, IAS, of the additional charge.

Dhirendra Kumar Tiwari, IAS (1994): Appointed as Additional Chief Secretary, Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities, relieving Veerendra Kumar Meena, IAS, of this charge.


Krishan Kumar, IAS (1997): Principal Secretary, Water Resources, transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Water Resources, and additionally Principal Secretary, Governance Reforms and Public Grievances, relieving Tejveer Singh, IAS, of the additional charge.

Rakhee Gupta Bhandari, IAS (1997): Principal Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs, and additionally Principal Secretary, Tourism and Cultural Affairs, transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Food Processing, relieving Kumar Rahul, IAS, of the additional charge.

Nilkanth S. Avhad, IAS (1999): Posted as Principal Secretary, Water Supply and Sanitation, relieving Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, IAS, of the additional charge.

Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS (2003): Posted as Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare.

Dilraj Singh, IAS (2005): Administrative Secretary, Transport, transferred and posted as Administrative Secretary, Transport, and additionally Administrative Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs, relieving Rakhee Gupta Bhandari, IAS, of this charge.

Amit Dhaka, IAS (2006): Administrative Secretary, Planning, and additionally Secretary, Punjab Development Commission, and additionally Director, Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration, transferred and posted as Administrative Secretary, Planning, andbSecretary, Punjab Development Commission. He is also given charge of Director, Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration, and additionally Administrative Secretary, Tourism and Cultural Affairs, relieving Smt. Rakhee Gupta Bhandari, IAS, of the additional charge.

Neelima, IAS (2008): Posted as Services are placed at the disposal of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare for posting as Commissioner, Agriculture.

Gurpreet Singh Khaira, IAS (2009): Posted as Director, State Transport, Punjab, in place of Amandeep Kaur, IAS.

However Veerendra Kumar Meena, IAS (1997) shall continue to work as Principal Secretary, Printing and Stationery and Amandeep Kaur, IAS (2015): shall report to the Secretary, Personnel.
