e-Tuk Tuk Project a community building initiative that aims to share the benefits of modern technology with the rural communities in Sri Lanka bagged the Stockholm Challenge award under the Public Administration category for Information Communication Technology (ICT) initiatives supporting development.

The e-Tuk Tuk project was launched in 2005 by Kothmale Radio and Dilmah Tea with the assistance from United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). It is a mobile telecentre on a auto rickshaw. The mobile telecentre utilises wireless Internet connection, loudspeakers and multimedia projectors and disseminates knowledge, providing training and participatory programming to the community. The mobile telecentre covers more than 20 villages everyday in Kothmale area in Sri Lanka.
