Several companies including Skype, Yahoo, MSN, Net2Phone and Google are currently under the government’s scanner regarding payment of service tax since they have provided illegal Internet telephony services in India.
The US Justice Department wants that Internet service providers should be allowed to charge for priority traffic. The Justice Department has said that it was opposed to “network neutrality”, the idea that all data on the net is treated equally.
Now, the IBM-Sun Microsystems backed Open Document Format (ODF) alliance is asking questions from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) technical committee on the choice of members.
