The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has chosen Verizon Business for consolidating global communications over a single Internet Protocol (IP) network which would enable a secured and centralized communications infrastructure for its employees around the world and thus help reduce costs and administrative hassles. The ministry is going hi-tech with video conferencing which would help their employees to collaborate from wherever they are based.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), Registry of Vital Records and Statistics (RVRS), has decided to convert approximately 10 million vital records into digital images. This will enable three important things such as identity verification for Medicaid (MassHealth), an efficient way to store and retrieve the documents, and establishment of an electronic disaster recovery program.
The Ministry of Information Technology plans to set up an agency to fast-track the implemention of National e-Governance plan, or NeGP, by coordinating efforts, providing resources and building a specialised team that would help the states execute their part in the plan.
In what can be termed as a gift for people of Maldives, the national registration of Maldives has announced that all new ID cards to be issued from now would be made available to citizens for free.
