
In a surprising turn of events, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially declared Mohan Yadav as the Chief Minister-elect of Madhya Pradesh. This announcement followed a meeting between BJP observers and the newly elected BJP MLAs in the state. Mohan Yadav, who currently serves as an MLA from Ujjain South and was a former minister in the Shivraj Singh Chouhan cabinet, emerged as the chosen candidate for the top position.
This decision comes as a shock to many, as several prominent leaders had been considered front runners for the position, including four-time MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Prahlad Patel, Narendra Tomar, Kailash Vijayvargiya, VD Sharma, and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

The BJP secured a resounding victory in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections held on November 17, capturing 163 out of the 230 seats, while the Congress trailed far behind with just 66 seats. The announcement of Mohan Yadav as the Chief Minister-elect marks a significant development in the state’s political landscape.
