Tripurari Sharan assumes charge of Chief Secretary of Bihar

The Government of Bihar, on May 1, issued orders for the appointment of Tripurari Sharan (IAS 1985-Batch) as the new Chief Secretary of Bihar. However, Sharan has been assigned the post for a brief tenure of two months, hence, he will retire from service on June 30, 2021.

The decision to assign the post of CS of Bihar to Sharan came following the demise of Arun Kumar Singh, the then CS of Bihar, due to COVID-19 infection. Prior to the newly assigned post, Sharan was serving as Chairman of Revenue Council.
