Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) has entered into a long-term fuel supply partnership with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) by signing a 10-year Total Fuel Management (TFM) Agreement. The agreement is aimed at ensuring an uninterrupted supply of High Speed Diesel (HSD) to support the company’s mining operations.

The agreement was signed on July 21 at NCL’s headquarters in Singrauli in the presence of senior officials from NCL, IOCL and HPCL. It marks a significant step towards strengthening fuel logistics and improving operational efficiency across NCL’s mining projects.
Reliable Fuel Supply for Mining Operations
High Speed Diesel is essential for running heavy earthmoving machinery, transport vehicles and other critical equipment used in NCL’s mechanised coal mines. Through the long-term partnership, the three organisations will work together to establish a streamlined fuel management system that ensures timely and reliable fuel availability.

The agreement is expected to minimise supply disruptions, improve coordination between fuel suppliers and mining units, and support uninterrupted coal production.
Focus on Efficient Fuel Management

Apart from securing a steady diesel supply, the Total Fuel Management Agreement also focuses on enhancing fuel handling and monitoring processes. Better planning and coordinated logistics are expected to improve operational efficiency while optimising fuel utilisation across NCL’s projects.
The initiative reflects NCL‘s continued efforts to strengthen its operational infrastructure and ensure smooth functioning of its large-scale mining activities.
Supporting India’s Energy Needs
As one of the leading coal-producing subsidiaries of Coal India Limited, NCL plays a vital role in supplying coal to thermal power plants across the country. The long-term fuel arrangement with IOCL and HPCL is expected to support the company’s production targets by ensuring dependable energy support for its mining equipment and transport systems.
The collaboration also highlights the importance of strategic partnerships between public sector enterprises in strengthening India’s energy and mining ecosystem.
