Arti Kujur Appointed Independent Director on SJVN Board

State-owned power company SJVN Limited has appointed Arti Kujur as an Independent Director on its Board for a tenure of three years. The appointment has been made by the Ministry of Power and is effective from July 15, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.


The appointment adds an experienced public representative to SJVN’s Board as the company continues to expand its presence in the hydropower, renewable energy and power transmission sectors.

Brings Experience in Public Service and Social Development

Arti Kujur is a social worker from Ranchi, Jharkhand. She holds a Bachelor’s degree along with postgraduate degrees in Political Science and Public Administration, besides an LL.B. from Ranchi University.


Over the years, she has been actively associated with rural development and community welfare initiatives, particularly in tribal regions of Jharkhand.

Served in Ranchi Zila Parishad


Kujur served as a Member of the Ranchi Zila Parishad from November 2010 to March 2022. During her tenure, she worked on improving access to government welfare schemes, coordinated with various departments and supported development initiatives in rural and tribal areas. She also conducted awareness programmes aimed at increasing public participation in government welfare programmes.

Led Jharkhand Child Rights Commission

From April 2016 to April 2019, Arti Kujur served as the Chairperson of the Jharkhand State Commission for Protection of Child Rights. In this role, she focused on issues related to child protection, rehabilitation and welfare.

She worked closely with government agencies and legal authorities to address cases involving child trafficking, child labour, denial of education, malnutrition, exploitation and abuse. She also contributed to rescue operations, rehabilitation efforts, counselling and legal support for affected children.

Strengthening the Board

With her appointment as Independent Director, SJVN is expected to benefit from her experience in public administration, community development and social welfare. Her induction comes as the company continues to strengthen its governance framework while pursuing growth across conventional and renewable energy projects in India and abroad.
