Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh AI & Health Innovation Conference 2026, held on 12–13 January 2026 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, brought together policymakers, healthcare leaders, technology experts, and industry stakeholders to discuss the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital innovation in shaping India’s future. During the inaugural session, Shri Jitin Prasada, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Electronics & IT, Government of India, shared insights on India’s evolving AI ecosystem and Uttar Pradesh’s growing role in advancing technology-driven development.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister highlighted how AI and digital technologies are increasingly reshaping governance, healthcare, industries, and citizen services across the country. He noted that India is witnessing rapid technological advancement and emerging as a significant player in the global digital transformation landscape.
Referring to recent initiatives and technology-focused events, he emphasised that platforms such as AI innovation conferences and industry collaborations are creating opportunities for dialogue, partnerships, and policy development. Such initiatives, he said, are helping strengthen India’s position in the global AI ecosystem and encouraging wider adoption of emerging technologies.
Highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s progress, he noted that the state is steadily emerging as an important destination for technology investments and digital innovation. Efforts aimed at strengthening digital infrastructure, expanding connectivity, and creating an enabling ecosystem for startups and emerging technologies are contributing to this transformation.
The Minister also pointed to India’s progress in building digital public infrastructure and technology platforms that have supported large-scale digital adoption. Expanding internet connectivity, digital identities, and technology-driven public service systems are playing a significant role in increasing accessibility and enabling broader digital participation.
At the same time, he acknowledged challenges associated with rapid digitalisation, including cybersecurity concerns, misinformation, and emerging risks linked to evolving technologies. Addressing these challenges, he stressed the importance of building secure systems, strengthening digital awareness, and ensuring responsible technology use.
Speaking on the future of AI, the Minister highlighted the need for long-term strategies, collaboration, and policy frameworks to accelerate innovation and ensure technology benefits reach all sections of society.
