In a significant administrative shake-up, the Maharashtra government has transferred seven senior IAS officers in a move aimed at enhancing efficiency and preparedness for upcoming events, including the 2027 Nashik Kumbh Mela. - Shekhar Singh – Appointed as Kumbh Mela Commissioner, Nashik. The former Municipal Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad will oversee preparations for the 2027 Kumbh Mela, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.
- M. Devendra Singh – Assigned as Member Secretary, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB), Mumbai. The former Ratnagiri Collector will lead environmental oversight and industrial compliance across the state.
- Jalaj Sharma – Takes charge as Metropolitan Commissioner, Nashik Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA), transitioning from his previous role as Nashik District Collector to accelerate regional urban development.
- Ayush Prasad – Moves from District Collector, Jalgaon to District Collector, Nashik, succeeding Jalaj Sharma.
- Rohan Ghughe – Former CEO, Zilla Parishad, Thane, now appointed District Collector, Jalgaon.
- Sanjay Kolte – Becomes Sugar Commissioner, Pune, after serving as Managing Director of the Shivshahi Rehabilitation Project in Mumbai, a key post for Maharashtra’s sugar sector.
- Manoj Jindal – Transferred from Joint Managing Director, MSRDC to District Collector, Ratnagiri, replacing M. Devendra Singh.
