Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has transferred 34 IAS officers in a late-night bureaucratic reshuffle, changing District Magistrates in 14 districts. The order brings several officers into new field postings, while a number of serving DMs have been moved to departmental and institutional assignments.
The districts receiving new DMs are Moradabad, Hardoi, Etah, Kushinagar, Kanpur Nagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, Pilibhit, Ballia, Amethi, Baghpat, Mahoba, Bijnor, Hathras and Hamirpur.

Reports have linked the latest district-level reshuffle to preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections. However, the government order itself specifies the transfers and postings and does not cite election preparations as the official reason.
