Ranjeeth Kumar J. Moves to GERC

Ranjeeth Kumar J. (IAS: 2005, Gujarat cadre), who was serving as State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Gandhinagar, has been transferred.

His services have been placed at the disposal of the Energy and Petrochemicals Department for appointment as Secretary, Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC), Gandhinagar.

Ranjeeth Kumar was already holding the additional charge of Secretary, GERC. With the latest order, he will take up the position on a regular basis.

His appointment comes as GERC continues to handle important responsibilities relating to electricity regulation, tariffs, consumers and the state’s power sector.

M Nagarajan Gets Samagra Shiksha Assignment

M Nagarajan (IAS: 2009, Gujarat cadre), who was serving as Municipal Commissioner, Surat Municipal Corporation, has also been transferred.

He has been appointed State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Gandhinagar, succeeding Ranjeeth Kumar J.

The new assignment brings Nagarajan’s experience in urban administration to the state’s education implementation framework. As State Project Director, he will oversee administrative and implementation-related responsibilities under the Samagra Shiksha programme.

Tejas Parmar Gets Additional Charge of Surat Municipal Corporation

Following Nagarajan’s transfer, the government has made an additional-charge arrangement for the leadership of the Surat Municipal Corporation.

Parmar Tejas Dilipbhai (IAS: 2016, Gujarat cadre), currently serving as Collector, Surat, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Municipal Commissioner, Surat Municipal Corporation.

The arrangement has been made under Section 39 of the Gujarat Provincial Municipal Corporations (GPMC) Act, 1949.

Parmar will therefore continue as Surat Collector while also handling the responsibilities of Municipal Commissioner.

Changes Across Three Key Administrative Areas

The latest reshuffle creates a chain of changes across three important areas of Gujarat’s administration.

Ranjeeth Kumar J. moves from Samagra Shiksha to GERC, M Nagarajan takes over the Samagra Shiksha assignment, and Parmar Tejas Dilipbhai assumes additional responsibility for the Surat Municipal Corporation.
