The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of three senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers as Joint Directors in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The appointments have been issued through an order of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and will take effect from the dates the respective officers assume charge.
Akhilesh Kumar Singh Appointed Joint Director
Akhilesh Kumar Singh (IPS: 2008, Maharashtra cadre) has been appointed as Joint Director, CBI.

He will take over the position from Sudha Singh (IPS: 2006, Odisha cadre).
Satya Veer Singh Gets CBI Posting
Satya Veer Singh (IPS: 2008, Bihar cadre) has also been appointed as Joint Director, CBI.
He succeeds Ashwin Shenvi (IPS: 2006, Haryana cadre) in the post.
Anish Gupta Appointed Joint Director
Anish Gupta (IPS: 2008, Jharkhand cadre) has been appointed as Joint Director, CBI.
He will take over the position held by Ramnish Geer, following Geer’s superannuation.
Appointments Approved by ACC
The appointments were approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet as part of changes in the senior leadership structure of the CBI.
The new appointments will become effective once the respective officers assume charge and will remain valid up to their specified tenure dates or until further orders.

The appointments bring three experienced 2008-batch IPS officers into key investigative and administrative roles within the country’s premier central investigation agency.
