In a key board-level development, Hindustan Copper Limited has appointed Kulveer Singh Yadav as Part-time Official (Government Nominee) Director with immediate effect.

The appointment has been made through an order issued by the Ministry of Mines dated May 4, 2026, in line with SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) Regulations.

Leadership Change at the Board Level

Kulveer Singh Yadav, who is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Mines, joins the board as the government’s nominee. He replaces Shakil Alam, who previously held the position.

The company stated that the appointment will remain effective until further orders, in accordance with its Articles of Association.

Strengthening Governance and Policy Alignment

The move is seen as part of the government’s broader effort to ensure stronger governance and closer policy alignment within strategic public sector enterprises.

As a key PSU in the mining sector, Hindustan Copper plays a crucial role in India’s resource security and industrial growth. The presence of a senior government official on its board is expected to enhance coordination between policy-making and execution.

Compliance Process Underway

Hindustan Copper has confirmed that all statutory formalities related to the appointment are currently being completed. Further disclosures will be made in line with regulatory and corporate governance requirements.
