New Tourism Startup Units Scheme

The Uttar Pradesh government has introduced the ‘New Tourism Startup Units Scheme’, aiming to turn tourism into a vibrant startup-driven sector while creating jobs and attracting fresh investment across the state.

The initiative is designed to support young entrepreneurs and encourage innovative tourism ideas that go beyond traditional travel experiences. Officials say the scheme will help build a modern, experience-focused tourism ecosystem.

Focus on New-Age Tourism Models

Under the scheme, the government is promoting unique and technology-driven concepts such as themed habitat stays, capsule hotels, eco-friendly tourism units, caravan tourism, and open-air “star bed” experiences. These models aim to offer immersive and sustainable travel options for visitors.

Strong Incentives for Investors

Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh highlighted that the scheme offers attractive financial support under the state’s tourism policy. Depending on the size of investment, subsidies range from 10% to 25%, with higher caps for larger projects.

In addition, investors will benefit from 100% stamp duty exemption and waivers on land conversion and development charges. Special incentives have also been introduced to encourage women, SC, and ST entrepreneurs, promoting inclusive participation.

Transparent Approval Process

Project proposals will be reviewed by a State Level Special Tourism Committee, ensuring that only viable and impactful ideas receive government support. This approach aims to balance innovation with accountability.

Boost to Jobs and Local Economy

Officials believe the scheme will generate significant employment opportunities while strengthening local economies. By encouraging private investment and startup participation, the government aims to make tourism a key driver of growth in Uttar Pradesh.
