Data Center Parks

The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is taking major steps to position the state as a leading digital and artificial intelligence (AI) hub in India.

As part of this vision, the state plans to develop eight large data center parks across key cities, with an estimated investment of ₹2 lakh crore and the potential to create around 50,000 direct jobs.

Data Center Parks Across Key Cities

The proposed data center parks will be developed in major urban and industrial hubs, including:

  • Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna Expressway region
  • Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Kanpur
  • Varanasi and Agra

Land allocation is already underway in Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna Expressway region, while planning and zoning processes are progressing in other cities.

Strong Interest from Major Companies

Several leading Indian and global companies have shown interest in investing in these data center projects, including:

  • HCL Technologies
  • Adani Group
  • NTT Data
  • Yotta Infrastructure
  • Sterlite Technologies
  • Sify Technologies

Many of these companies have already signed agreements, and some projects are currently under construction.

Focus on Power and Sustainability

Recognising that data centers require significant energy, the state government is preparing to meet an estimated 900 MW power demand. Plans include:

  • Setting up new substations
  • Strengthening transmission networks
  • Ensuring dedicated power supply

The government is also promoting renewable energy to support environmentally sustainable data center operations.

Investor-Friendly Policies

To attract large-scale investments, the state has introduced a dedicated data center policy offering:

  • Capital subsidies
  • Reduced electricity tariffs
  • Stamp duty exemptions
  • Infrastructure support

A single-window clearance system has also been implemented to simplify approvals and speed up project execution.

Employment and Economic Boost

The initiative is expected to generate:

  • Around 50,000 direct jobs
  • Significant indirect employment in IT, logistics, and allied sectors

Most projects are expected to be completed within 3 to 5 years, creating a strong foundation for long-term economic growth.

Moving Towards a Digital Future

With large-scale investments, strong policy support, and growing industry interest, Uttar Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a key destination for digital infrastructure and AI-driven innovation.
