In a significant boost to higher education infrastructure in Odisha, NBCC (India) Limited has partnered with Odisha State Open University and Gangadhar Meher University for major development works under the PM-USHA scheme.
The project is expected to improve campus infrastructure and create better academic facilities for students and faculty at both universities. It also reflects the government’s broader effort to strengthen public universities through targeted investment and modernisation.
Under this initiative, the two universities will get upgraded infrastructure as part of the Government Supported Universities (GSU) component. The aim is to provide institutions with better buildings, improved learning spaces, and more supportive campus facilities that match current educational needs.
For students, this could mean a more comfortable and modern learning environment. For universities, it offers an opportunity to strengthen their academic ecosystem and improve the overall quality of higher education delivery.
NBCC’s involvement is important because the company has extensive experience in executing large public infrastructure projects. Its role is expected to help ensure that the university development works are carried out in a structured and timely manner.
The move is also seen as a positive step for Odisha’s education sector. By investing in university infrastructure, the state is creating stronger foundations for future learning, research, and institutional growth.
Overall, the partnership brings both development and hope — not just in terms of buildings, but in creating better educational spaces for thousands of students who depend on public universities for their future.
