Bhaskar A. Sawant Takes Charge as ACS Home Affairs and Disaster Management Departments in Rajasthan

Bhaskar A. Sawant, a senior IAS officer of the 1995 batch, officially assumed charge on Monday as the Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Home Guard, Prisons & Rajasthan State Investigation Bureau and ex-officio Chief Vigilance Commissioner.


Simultaneously, he has also taken over responsibilities as Additional Chief Secretary, Disaster Management, Relief and Civil Defence Department at the Rajasthan Secretariat.

Following his appointment, Sawant conducted a comprehensive review meeting with senior departmental officers. Among those present was Special Government Secretary (Home) Avichal Chaturvedi, along with other key officials.

Over the course of his administrative career, Sawant has held several significant positions within the Rajasthan Government, including:


  • Additional Chief Secretary, Public Health Engineering and Ground Water Department, Jaipur

  • Principal Secretary, Public Health Engineering and Ground Water Department, Jaipur

  • Principal Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, Jaipur

  • Principal Secretary, Energy Department; Chairman, DISCOM; and Chairman and Managing Director, Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd., Jaipur
