In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Tamil Nadu government has transferred around 31 IAS officers, including six district collectors, and appointed new leadership for various key departments. The overhaul also includes the appointment of a new Managing Director for Guidance Tamil Nadu, the state’s investment promotion agency.
According to an order issued by Chief Secretary N Muruganandam, Dr. Darez Ahmed (2005-batch IAS officer), previously Secretary to the Government, Special Programme Implementation Department, has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Guidance Tamil Nadu. Additional Chief Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister, Pradeep Yadav, will hold full additional charge as Secretary of the Special Programme Implementation Department.
Dr. T Prabhushankar (2013-batch IAS officer), formerly the Tiruvallur Collector, has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC), replacing Dr. Alby John Varghese.

- Dharmapuri: R Sadheesh, previously Project Officer of DRDA, Erode, replaces K Santhi, who is now Director of Sericulture, Salem.
- Dindigul: S Saravanan, formerly Executive Director of Chennai Metro Water, replaces MN Poongodi, now Joint Commissioner (Admin), Commercial Taxes Department.
- Krishnagiri: C Dinesh Kumar, former Commissioner of Madurai Corporation, takes charge from KM Sarayu, now Joint Secretary (Protocol), Public Department.
- Tiruvallur: M Prathap, formerly Deputy Secretary, Special Programme Implementation Department, takes over as Collector.
- Villupuram: S Shiek Abdul Rahman, formerly Joint Commissioner, Municipal Administration, replaces C Palani, now Additional Commissioner (Admin), HR & CE Department.
- Tiruvannamalai: K Tharpagaraj, former Tirupattur Collector, assumes charge.
- Tirupattur: V Mohanachandran, former Director of Disaster Management, is the new Collector.
- Tirunelveli: Dr. R Sukumar, Additional Commissioner, HR & CE Department, takes over.
- Tiruvarur: K Sivasoundaravalli, former Additional Director, Industries and Commerce Department, is the new Collector.

- Sigy Thomas Vaidhyan, Secretary of the Differently-Abled Welfare Department, has been appointed Commissioner of Disaster Management.
- R Jaya, returning from central deputation, has been posted as Commissioner of Economics, replacing S Ganesh, who has been posted as Special Secretary to the State Revenue Department.
- Chitra Vijayan, Joint CEO of Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency, has been appointed Commissioner of Madurai Corporation.
- Gaurav Kumar, Project Officer of DRDA – Dharmapuri, has been posted as Executive Director of Chennai Metro Water.
