The development facility played a vital role in attracting companies to SALTLEC, kickstarting the region’s journey to becoming an IT powerhouse.

In recent years, the building has undergone upgrades to maintain its relevance in a rapidly changing tech world. Modern amenities, security systems, and improved internet connectivity have been added, though the building’s essential structure and spirit remain unchanged. Today, while many newer, glossier towers have sprung up in Sector V, the SDF Building continues to stand as a reminder of Kolkata’s technological evolution. It remains functional, with several companies still operating within its walls, demonstrating the enduring value of its design.
